What each phase usually throws at us
Phase 1 and Phase 2
These sit near MG Road and NH-48. Independent houses, builder floors and older condos such as Silver Oaks, often on lanes where parked cars line both sides. Truck position gets decided at the survey. Never on the morning itself.
Phase 3
Cyber City and Nathupur are next door, so this is rented builder floor and PG territory. Jobs are small and quick, often squeezed into a weekday evening or an early Saturday before the next tenant walks in. A compact vehicle and a lean crew handle it.
Phase 4 and Phase 5
Galleria Market, and the stretch down to Golf Course Road. Large plotted homes, plus condos like Ridgewood Estate and Regency Park in Phase 4 and Princeton Estate in Phase 5, where service lift bookings and building approvals come into play. Ask the condo office to confirm your slot in writing, then forward it. Over the years, more of our DLF condo moves have been held up by a lift than by anything else.
Heavy wood and doors that did not grow
Plenty of DLF houses are decades old and renovated more than once. Kitchens got bigger. Furniture got bigger. Doorways stayed exactly the size they always were.
So the surveyor carries a measuring tape. Main door, stair turn, corridor width, the gap beside the staircase railing: each gets measured, and the crew arrives already knowing which beds, almirahs and sideboards must come apart.
Older families here tend to own solid wood. Sheesham double beds. Glass-front bookshelves. An almirah that weighs about as much as a scooter. Each heavy piece gets corrugated sheet, tight film and strapping, then extra hands on the lift, because marble and old wooden floors chip easily and repairs in these homes are expensive and slow.

Before the crew walks in
Defrost the fridge a day early. Photograph the cables behind the TV. Passports, papers and jewellery travel with you. Tenants in Phase 3 should settle the meter reading and deposit with the landlord a day ahead.
How a DLF estimate is put together
Volume of furniture and cartons comes first. Then floors and lift access, where the truck can park on your lane or inside the complex, total distance, and how much special packing the old wood, art or glass will need. Storage and vehicle transport only appear if you ask. After a survey, in person or by video call, you get a written estimate that costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
